Or, “How to take your boyfriends on your next family holiday” 😉
There’s been a definite “boyfriend” trend going on for a while now with boyfriend jeans, boyfriend jumpers and even boyfriend shirts in abundance. I was a late adopter with this as with everything. My goodness, Nikki from Styling You was going on for months and months about skinny jeans before I finally started to listen. Now you can’t get me out of them.
Do we dare ask what boyfriend jeans are? Isn’t boyfriend just a sexier way of saying baggy? Pretty much I say. And I was skeptical about the baggy. Does it rhyme with daggy for a reason?
So I tried on a few pairs, but I bought mine at Target because that’s what you do when you don’t want to over-commit. I think a pair with rips would be cooler, but they are almost as comfy as trackies and for that I can overlook their shortcomings.
You’ll see them a lot in magazines on model-types, ripped to shreds and worn with sky-high heels. Glamourmama does this look like a rock star. But, while I am quite liking wearing the occasional heeled boot, I’m more comfortable in flats. So this is how i’ve been wearing them lately.
Now there is absolutely no doubting that they are comfortable. They are also enormously practical for kid-related activities where running, climbing or rolling down a hill may be required at a moment’s notice. But I have come to the conclusion that they do actually look good. So while boyfriend = baggy = comfy, it also = stylish. And if I can be both stylish and comfy, then I’m winning.
