Disney’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a magical beauty salon owned by Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother and operated by her skilled apprentices. These Fairy Godmothers-in-Training will transform your child into the Disney prince or princess of their choosing.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques are found in many of the Disney parks and cruise ships around the world. On our Disney cruise aboard Disney Fantasy, Alannah (aged 8) was indulged in this delightfully memorable experience.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique – Chelsea begins styling Alannah’s hair

Treated like royalty
In Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother needs only to chant a magic spell, with a “Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo”, to transform a dusty servant into a dazzling princess. Disney has captured the magic of this scene to create the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques.
The boutiques are beautifully decorated, complete with elegant lounges for parents to relax while they watch. Those located in the Disney parks like Disney World are much larger than those on the cruise ships to cater for the huge demand for this ultimate princess experience.
On our Disney Fantasy cruise ship the boutique is a hushed, secluded environment, where the children are lavished with attention.

Somehow Chelsea manages to get all of Alannah’s medium length hair high up on top of her head. Chelsea now elevated to goddess status in Alannah’s eyes.
Your very own Fairy Godmother-in-Training
Like all Disney staff, the Fairy Godmothers-in-Training are completely devoted to their jobs.
Alannah had Chelsea, who was the absolute sweetest girl ever. She could hardly get a word out of Alannah, but kept chatting away to her, asking her questions and talking about how she hopes to be a real Fairy Godmother one day. They take their roles VERY seriously and NEVER drop out of character.
I found out afterwards that Alannah was a little overwhelmed by the experience. Hence the extra quietness. But she was completely in awe of Chelsea and came away IDOLISING her. And completely convinced that they are now BFFs.

Every princess needs a tiara!
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique packages
There’s an array of packages available, but they all include –
- Your choice of elaborate hairstyle (Alannah’s is the “Fairytale Princess”),
- Shimmering make-up with a face gem,
- Nail polish, and
- Princess sash and souvenir bag (containing the makeup, more face gems and nail polish used in your experience)
We chose this Crown package, currently US$59.95 plus tax, without any further add-ons. Alannah wore a dress that she brought from home. But there are packages including absolutely magnificent Princess dresses, shoes, wands, and crowns.

Pretty sparkly nail polish
Once your Princess’s hair is perfect, the Fairy Godmother-in Training applies nail polish.

Is there anything more girly than getting your nails painted?
A little light makeup
Your little girl can choose the colours she likes.

They grow up before your eyes
And a dash of magic!
This is the moment when the Princess transformation takes place.
The Fairy Godmother-in-Training waves her wand, says the magic spell and sprinkles the new little Princess’s hair with sparkles.

Alannah wasn’t entirely sure what was happening, but LOVED the sparkles!
Princess sash

Feeling pretty special now!
The Princess sash is the finishing touch, which turns even a much-worn dress from home into a true Princess gown.
The final result
Alannah was absolutely thrilled with the result!

It is only once they’re ready that they get to see themselves in the mirror.
Souvenir bag
As an added treat, the makeup, face gems and nail polish are used only that one time and are then gifted to the little Princess to take home.

A present to take home!
The magic even got to me!
This was a teary time for me!
I wasn’t 100% on spending so much money, but there is a magic about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique that transcends the hair and makeup.
When the background music was Angela Lansbury as Mrs Potts singing the theme song from Beauty and the Beast – my absolute favourite Disney movie, princess and song – I shed a tear as I watched my little girl being made to feel so special. It was like being inside a movie.
To Alannah and to me it was magical. And I felt so lucky to be able to treat her to it.

Make sure you get some special photos to capture the moment. Here is Princess Alannah with little brother Hamish.
Tips
Book as soon as you can – months and months in advance. Ideally as soon as bookings open, because the most popular times book out quickly.
On a cruise the day of formal night is the most popular, because it’s typically a sea day so you spend the day on the ship, and then you can have gorgeous family photos done to remember this ultimate princess experience.
Note that if you’re in a Disney Facebook group or forum, then Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques are known as BBB.
